Wang Limin Bio
Dr. Limin Wang joined WWF as HSBC Project Leader in September 2002, led team to implement project of ‘Restoring the Web of Life’ funded by HSBC in the Central Yangtze, through demonstration, policy advocacy, communication and partner network, this project successful promoted to re-link more than 30 years isolated lakes with Yangtze seasonally, establish Yangtze Forum, restore destroyed Lake Hong Wetland etc., which contribute to freshwater conservation in China.
He was appointed as WWF ‘HSBC Climate Partnership’ China Programme leader to overall manage programmer development and implementation in August 2007. He recruited and led team to take actions in the areas of wetland ecosystem and low carbon to reduce the impact caused by climate change on people and nature.
He was appointed as deputy conservation director of operation of WWF China, to develop and manage all projects including coping with climate change in the whole Central and Lower Yangtze in July 2008, he is taking innovative ideas such as ‘working with nature’, ‘integration climate adaptation and mitigation’ to explore the solution for climate change in river basin level.
Prior to joining WWF he spent 15 years with the Administrative Committee of the Yangtze River Fisheries Resources as the director for their Office. He bears a PHD of Conservation Biology conferred by Academy of Chinese Science.
